What image size should an Open Graph image be?
1200×630 is the safe default — a 1.91:1 ratio that every major platform crops cleanly. Keep any text well inside the middle, since WhatsApp and some chat clients crop toward square. Stay under about 5 MB or platforms will skip the image entirely.
Why does my card still show the old image?
Every platform caches scraped metadata, often for days. Changing the tags is not enough — you have to force a re-scrape through the platform's own debugger, or change the image URL so it looks like a different asset. This tool always fetches live, so it shows the new tags before the platforms do.
Do I need Twitter tags as well as Open Graph?
Mostly no — X falls back to Open Graph for the title, description and image. The one tag worth setting explicitly is twitter:card, because without it you get the small side-by-side layout rather than the full-width image most people are aiming for.
Why did the checker fail on my URL?
Usually because the site blocks unknown crawlers, sits behind authentication, or renders its meta tags client-side. Tags injected by JavaScript after load are invisible to every social scraper too, so if that is the cause, the card is genuinely broken and not just unreadable here.
Is this an exact rendering?
It is a close approximation. Platforms adjust their card layouts regularly and vary them by surface — a link in a feed does not always look like the same link in a direct message. What it shows reliably is which of your fields each platform uses and which it ignores.
